πͺ Quick Win #4: Loyalty Cards Delivery by SMS and Email
How to Deliver Loyalty Card Install Links by SMS and Email
If you have already imported your customer base and issued loyalty cards, the next practical step is getting those cards into customers' hands. The easiest way to do that is to send the install link directly by SMS, email, or both in one mailing.
This workflow is simple, fast, and useful because it does more than send a message. It also gives you a way to track delivery status and later check how many people actually installed the card.
Start with the customer list
Before creating any mailing, make sure two things are already done:
Your customers have been imported into the platform.
Loyalty cards have been issued to those customers.
A quick check inside a customer profile helps confirm everything is ready. When you open a profile, you should be able to see whether that person already has a loyalty card and what its current install status is.
For example, a card can be issued but still show as not installed. That is perfectly normal if the card was just created. It simply means the customer has not yet opened the link and added the card.
Create a new mailing
Once the customer records are ready, go to the Mailings section from the left menu and create a new mailing.
Give it a clear internal name so you can recognize it later. A practical naming style is something like a card delivery campaign with a version or sequence number. This makes follow-up much easier when you start sending multiple campaigns over time.
At this stage, you can choose how you want to deliver the card:
SMS only
Email only
SMS and email together
Using both channels in one mailing is often the strongest option because it increases the chance that the customer notices the install link and takes action.
Select the right customer segment
After naming the mailing, choose the audience segment that should receive it.
The platform automatically creates segments for imported customer batches. These segments are typically based on the import event and its date and time, which makes it easy to target a specific upload without manually rebuilding the audience.
So if you imported a group of customers today, you can simply open your saved segments, find the import-based segment, and use that as the recipient list for the mailing.
Once selected, you will see how many recipients are included. That gives you a quick confirmation that the right group is about to receive the loyalty card install link.
Write an email subject that makes the purpose obvious
If email delivery is enabled, add a subject line that clearly tells people what they are getting.
A good subject should do two things:
Make the message feel welcoming
Explain that the loyalty card is ready to install
It also helps to include the brand name. That makes the email instantly more recognizable and can improve open rates because the recipient immediately knows who the message is from.
The goal is not to be clever. The goal is to be clear.
Personalize the message body
The message itself should be short, friendly, and direct.
A strong format looks like this in plain terms:
Greet the customer by first name
Welcome them
Tell them their loyalty card is ready
Ask them to install it using the link below
Personalization matters here. Using a short variable for the customer first name makes the message feel much more relevant than sending the same generic text to everyone.
You should also insert the actual loyalty card install link for the specific card you want to deliver. That link is the core of the campaign. Without it, the message is just a reminder. With it, the message becomes a direct action point.
Use emojis carefully to increase attention
A small visual touch can help a plain text message stand out. Emojis are useful for that.
Used well, they work like a quick attention grabber inside both email and SMS. A simple welcome emoji or pointing finger near the link can make the call to action more noticeable without turning the message into clutter.
The key is moderation. One or two relevant emojis can improve visibility. Too many can make the message look noisy.
Send now or schedule for later
After the text is ready, you have two options:
Send immediately
Schedule for a future time
If you want the message to go out right away, create the mailing and let the system process it.
If timing matters more, you can schedule it for tomorrow, next week, or any specific date and time that fits your campaign plan.
This flexibility is useful when you want to coordinate your card delivery with a store launch, promotion, onboarding flow, or a specific communication calendar.
What happens after the mailing is created
Once the mailing is created, it will appear in the mailings list with its current status.
There is usually a short processing period before delivery completes. Messages are not always sent the instant the mailing is created, but the turnaround is typically fast. In most cases, delivery should finish within a few minutes.
That means you can create the campaign, refresh the page shortly after, and already start reviewing its results.
How to check mailing results
Open the mailing details page to see the full status breakdown.
There are a few things worth checking here:
Overall campaign status, such as completed
Number of recipients
Mailing type, for example SMS and email together
Date and time of the send
Message content that was delivered
This page gives you a quick operational view of the campaign and confirms whether the mailing was sent as intended.
Review recipient-by-recipient delivery status
The most useful part of the mailing report is the recipient list.
For each contact, you can review individual delivery information such as:
Whether the SMS was sent
Whether the email was sent
Which channels were used
The install status of the loyalty card after the mailing
This is where the mailing becomes more than a bulk send. It turns into a measurable card activation process.
Why cards may still show as not installed right away
Right after sending the mailing, do not be surprised if the cards still show as not installed.
That does not mean the campaign failed.
Customers still need time to:
Open the email or SMS
Click the link
Open the card page
Install the loyalty card
In other words, delivery is immediate, but customer action is not.
A better way to evaluate results is to come back later, such as a few hours afterward or the next day, and then review how many recipients completed the install.
A simple workflow that scales
The full process is straightforward:
Import customers
Issue loyalty cards
Open the Mailings section
Create a new campaign
Select the imported customer segment
Write a personalized message
Insert the loyalty card install link
Send immediately or schedule for later
Check delivery and install status afterward
That is what makes this a quick win. You are not manually sending links one by one. You are turning card distribution into a repeatable campaign workflow using SMS and email together, while still keeping visibility into who received the message and who installed the card.
If the goal is to increase loyalty card adoption quickly, this is one of the easiest and most reliable ways to do it.
